Heaven Can Wait: An Open Letter from the Departed

Or why God may have deliberately kept the afterlife a mystery.

By Shambhu

Imagine waking up one morning to the biggest breaking news in human history.

Not a political announcement.

Not a scientific discovery.

Not even confirmation of alien life.

Instead, every television channel, newspaper, YouTube creator, and WhatsApp group receives an official notification from God:

**"Dear Humans,

After death, all departed souls are reunited with their loved ones in God's Town.

There are no diseases, no pain, no loneliness, no property disputes, no traffic jams, and no electricity bills.

Families live together happily forever.

Regards,

Management."**

Humanity would celebrate.

For exactly five minutes.

After that, the problems would begin.

The World's Most Dangerous Good News

The first question many people would ask would not be:

"How wonderful!"

It would be:

"When can I go?"

After all, if all our loved ones are already there, why continue struggling with deadlines, bills, traffic, and endless responsibilities?

Human beings are experts at finding shortcuts.

Give us a beautiful destination, and immediately we begin searching for the fastest route.

Monday Morning Crisis

Imagine the effect on office workers.

Manager: Why are you late again?

Employee: Sir, I have discovered my grandparents are living peacefully in God's Town.

Manager: So?

Employee: After learning that, I am finding it difficult to get excited about today's performance review meeting.

Manager: Fair point.

The End of Retirement Planning

Retirement consultants would become unemployed overnight.

Nobody would care about pension calculations anymore.

People would start saying:

"My parents are already in God's Town."

"My childhood friends are already there."

"Even our old dog is there."

"Why am I still attending housing society meetings?"

Governments would be forced to launch awareness campaigns:

"Please enjoy Earth first. Heaven is not running out of seats."

The Great Family Reunion

Now imagine arriving at God's Town.

You expect peace.

You expect divine music.

You expect celestial serenity.

Instead, you discover Indian families have already settled there.

Within one week:

Ajji: Have you eaten?

Father: Who left the lights on?

Mother: Why are you looking so thin?

Uncle: Did our mango tree survive?

Relative: By the way, have they repaired the road near our village?

Some things transcend worlds.

A Surprise Call From Amma

One evening, while worrying about work, family, and the hundred unfinished tasks of life, my phone rings.

Caller ID: 📞 Amma - God's Town

Naturally, I freeze.

Me: Amma? Is that really you?

Amma: Who else? Do you think marketing calls have reached heaven?

Me: Amma, how are you?

Amma: Excellent. No medicines. No hospital visits. No diabetes. No power cuts.

Me: That sounds wonderful. Maybe I should come there soon.

Amma: Absolutely not.

Me: Why not?

Amma: First answer this. Did you eat properly today?

Me: I wasn't very hungry.

Amma: Same old story. I leave Earth and within months you're skipping meals.

Me: Amma, I miss you.

Amma: I know. I miss you too. But missing me doesn't cancel your responsibilities.

Me: Responsibilities?

Amma: Yes. Who is teaching Siri and Sindhu our traditions?

Me: I am.

Amma: Who is preserving the Dasara customs?

Me: I am.

Amma: Who is writing long blog articles that make people think?

Me: Still me.

Amma: Then why are you talking about coming here early?

Me: Because everyone I love seems to be gathering there.

Amma: And everyone I love is still there with you.

Amma Knows Everything

Me: So what do you do all day in God's Town?

Amma: Same thing mothers do everywhere.

Me: Which is?

Amma: Keep an eye on their children.

Me: That's impossible.

Amma: Last Tuesday you skipped breakfast.

Me: Oh.

Amma: Last Friday you stayed awake late thinking about family matters.

Me: Oh.

Amma: Yesterday you had coffee instead of a proper meal.

Me: Amma, do you have CCTV there?

Amma: No.

Me: Then how do you know?

Amma: I am a mother.

The Transfer Order

Me: So when can I visit?

Amma: Not before your transfer order is issued.

Me: Transfer order?

Amma: From Earth Division to God's Town Division.

Me: Who issues it?

Amma: Same management that posted you to Earth in the first place.

Me: Can I request an early transfer?

Amma: Rejected.

Me: Immediately?

Amma: Immediately.

The Hidden Wisdom

The more I think about it, the more I suspect there is a reason we are not given absolute certainty about what lies beyond death.

If everyone knew beyond doubt that all loved ones were waiting in a perfect place, many of us might stop paying attention to the life we have now.

We might become so eager to reach the destination that we forget the purpose of the journey.

Perhaps that is why faith exists instead of certainty.

Not to make us fearful.

But to remind us:

Life is not a waiting room.

It is our assignment.

God's Official Clarification

Eventually, I imagine God becoming concerned and issuing another circular:

**"Dear Humans,

God's Town is your final destination, not your shortcut.

Earth is where your work is.

Please complete your pending responsibilities before reporting here.

Regards,

Management."**

Conclusion

Perhaps, if God's Town truly exists, our departed loved ones are not standing at the gates saying:

"Come quickly."

Perhaps they are saying:

"Live fully."

"Take care of your family."

"Finish your work."

"Keep your promises."

"Do not rush."

"We will still be here when your journey is complete."

And if the voice belongs to Amma, she would probably add:

"Eat your food on time, stop overthinking, and finish today's work before thinking about heaven."

After all, some instructions remain valid in every world. 🌼🙏😊

"Maybe heaven is not a place that calls us away from life. Maybe it is a place where our loved ones patiently wait for us to finish living it."

Veer Savarkar: A Life of Fire and Freedom

On this day, 26 February 1966, India bid farewell to one of her most fiery sons— Vinayak Damodar Savarkar , remembered as Veer Savarkar . His life was a saga of courage, sacrifice, and unyielding devotion to the motherland. Early Days in Bhagur Born on 28 May 1883 in Bhagur , near Nashik, Maharashtra, Savarkar grew up in a household that valued tradition and resilience. His father Damodar Savarkar and mother Radhabai nurtured him with discipline and cultural pride. 🐾 “National Animal”

A national animal is a creature officially chosen to represent a country’s identity, values, and heritage. It’s not just about biodiversity—it’s symbolic. These animals often embody traits the nation admires: strength, freedom, resilience, or wisdom. 📌 Note: “Notional animal” is likely a typo or misheard version of “national animal.” There’s no formal concept of a “notional animal” in zoology or symbolism. National Animal of India: The Royal Bengal Tiger Scientific Name: Panthera tigris tigris Symbolism: Strength, agility, grace, and majestic power Habitat: Found across India except the northwestern region; also in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh Conservation Effort: Project Tiger launched in 1973; now 55 tiger reserves across India Why the Tiger?
